HAMS Garments Ltd has achieved a historic milestone by securing LEED Platinum certification with a record score of 108 out of 110, the highest ever awarded to a garment factory worldwide.
The Bangladesh-based, 100% export-oriented manufacturer has been recognized by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) for its outstanding performance in sustainable and environmentally responsible manufacturing.The certificate was formally handed over at a ceremony held at the BGMEA Complex on January 31, attended by senior BGMEA officials and sustainability experts. The achievement highlights HAMS Garments’ strong commitment to green manufacturing, environmental stewardship, and sustainable industrial development.Bangladesh currently has 273 LEED-certified garment factories, including 115 Platinum and 139 Gold-rated facilities, reinforcing the country’s global leadership in sustainable apparel manufacturing.
