Bangladesh is set to enhance the production and export of jute goods through a series of strategic initiatives, said Textiles and Jute Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir.
The government is supporting small entrepreneurs with training in export-oriented diversified jute products through the Jute Diversification Promotion Center (JDPC). Efforts are also underway to modernize jute testing laboratories in Dhaka and Khulna to improve quality and global competitiveness.
A feasibility study has been launched to expand technology-driven jute and seed production, aiming to increase high-quality exports. Additionally, exporters are receiving cash incentives to encourage international trade.
Currently, Bangladesh exports jute goods to 138 countries worldwide. To further expand market reach, JDPC is actively participating in international fairs and organizing training, workshops, and buyer-seller meetings to strengthen exporters’ capabilities.
