The Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA) has officially handed over responsibilities to its newly elected Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term at a ceremony held in Dhaka.
Md. Abdul Hamid assumed office as the new President, leading a refreshed leadership team committed to strengthening Bangladesh’s buying house sector. In his inaugural remarks, he outlined an ambitious goal to increase the sector’s export contribution from $12–15 billion to $25 billion within the next five years through market diversification and digital transformation.
The committee was elected under the “Visionary Alliance” panel and includes Senior Vice President Mohammed Zakir Hossain, Vice President (Admin) Md. Roman Mia, and Vice President (Finance) Md. Emdadul Huque Miazi, alongside several vice presidents representing the industry.
During the new term, BGBA plans to focus on export expansion, infrastructure development, policy advocacy, and professional training for members. The association also aims to establish a permanent BGBA building to facilitate stronger engagement with international buyers.
Industry representatives from organizations such as Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association, and Bangladesh Textile Mills Association attended the ceremony.
