The BUTEX Business Club of Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) successfully hosted the Grand Finale of its flagship inter departmental business case competition, Future Weave 2.0, on 1 March 2026 at the BUTEX campus.
The competition transformed academic knowledge into a practical platform for strategy, innovation, and collaboration, drawing enthusiastic participation from students across multiple departments. Designed to encourage analytical thinking and industry-oriented problem-solving, Future Weave 2.0 offered students the opportunity to compete not only for awards but also for departmental pride and recognition.
The event featured two major segments: Case Competition and Quiz Clash. The Case Competition challenged teams to solve real-world business problems by submitting a two-page strategic proposal along with a one-minute Online Video Commercial (OVC). From an initial pool of participants, the top 15 teams advanced to the second round, and ultimately five finalist teams competed in the Grand Finale by presenting their solutions live before the judging panel.
Team Hattimatim emerged as the Champion of the Case Competition segment, while Team DUDHBHAT secured the position of 1st Runner-Up, demonstrating strong analytical capabilities and professional presentation skills.The Quiz Clash, conducted as an individual competition, tested participants’ business knowledge, creativity, and critical thinking skills. Mahfuz Ahmed (AE-48) won the Quiz Clash segment. Suraiya Binte Akbar (TEM-48) secured the Runner-Up position, and Estiak Al Amin (ESE-48) achieved the 2nd Runner-Up title.
The Grand Finale was graced by distinguished guests from academia and industry. Among them were Mr. Ibrahim Khalil, Country Manager of Cresa Textile Chemicals, and Mr. K. M. Asadun Noor, National Project Coordinator of SWITCH2CE under United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Prof. Dr. Md. Ahasan Habib, Dean of the Faculty of Textile Management & Business Studies at BUTEX, was also present to inspire the participants. Dr. Mohammad Abbas Uddin Shiyak, Moderator of BUTEX Business Club and Assistant Professor of the Department of Dyes and Chemical Engineering (DCE), attended as the Special Guest.
With strong participation and competitive spirit, Future Weave 2.0 once again reinforced the commitment of BUTEX Business Club to fostering leadership, teamwork, and business excellence among students. The successful completion of the event highlights the growing culture of strategic thinking and professional development at BUTEX.
