The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) on February 28, 2026, organized a dialogue at its auditorium stressing that improved law and order is essential to ensure ease of doing business.A. H. M. Ahsan, Chairman of the Bangladesh Competition Commission, attended as Chief Guest, while Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Administrator of the FBCCI, joined as Special Guest.
DCCI President Taskeen Ahmed said private sector growth has slowed due to contractionary monetary policy, weak law enforcement, extortion, corruption, and administrative complexities. He urged the government to ensure security, policy stability, and stronger coordination between businesses and law enforcement agencies to restore investor confidence.
Ahsan highlighted improved market stability during Ramadan, stressing proper supply-demand coordination and accurate data management to reduce institutional costs and control prices.
Rahim Khan emphasized immediate reforms and effective market management to strengthen economic stability and public confidence.Officials also raised concerns over traffic congestion, extortion during goods transportation, limited import access creating syndicates, and farmers’ losses due to low potato prices. Law enforcement authorities assured stricter measures to improve traffic control and curb illegal activities.Business leaders reiterated that a safe, predictable environment is critical for sustainable trade and investment growth.
