Andritz Reports Record Q1 Orders, Driven by Hydropower Demand

Andritz AG posted a strong start to 2026, reporting a record order intake in the first quarter, largely supported by rising demand for renewable energy projects.

Order intake surged 54.3% year-on-year to €3.6 billion (~$4.21 billion), led by the hydropower segment where orders more than tripled. Major contracts included large-scale pumped storage projects across India, Southeast Asia, and Brazil.

Revenue grew modestly by 1.7% to €1.79 billion (~$2.1 billion), despite negative foreign exchange impacts. Growth was supported by hydropower (+8.4%) and pulp and paper (+3.5%) segments, reflecting execution of a strong order backlog.

Net income increased 2.9% to €91.8 million, while comparable EBITA rose 1.9% to €147.3 million, with margins remaining stable at 8.2%.

The company noted that the exceptional order intake was driven by the timing of contract bookings and may not be sustained in upcoming quarters. However, it reaffirmed its full-year 2026 outlook, projecting revenues between €8–8.3 billion and EBITA margins of 8.7–9.1%.

Despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, Andritz remains optimistic, citing strong global demand for renewable energy solutions as a key growth driver.
