The New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT) at Chattogram Port has set a new single-day container handling record, processing 5,709 TEUs on April 30, according to port authorities.
The figure surpasses the previous record of 5,484 TEUs set earlier in April, reflecting rapid improvements in operational performance. Operated by Chittagong Dry Dock Limited, the terminal has achieved higher productivity following recent operational enhancements.
Across all terminals, the port handled 10,162 TEUs خلال the same 24-hour period, indicating a broader rise in overall capacity and efficiency.
Officials credited better coordination, improved management, and workforce efforts for the milestone, which coincided with International Workers’ Day.
Industry observers say the increased throughput could help ease congestion, reduce vessel turnaround times, and support smoother trade flows through Bangladesh’s primary seaport.
