Under Armour has partnered with French fashion house Marine Serre to launch a limited-edition capsule collection, marking the sportswear brand’s 30th anniversary with a collaboration that merges athletic performance and contemporary fashion.
Drawing inspiration from Under Armour’s iconic 2000s sportswear archive and its pioneering baselayer technology, the collection reinterprets performance apparel through Marine Serre’s distinctive design language, positioning the baselayer as both a functional garment and a fashion statement.
The debut capsule launched on June 5 through Marine Serre’s official channels, selected retail locations and a dedicated pop-up experience in Paris. A broader global release is scheduled later this summer through Under Armour’s retail network and digital platforms.
At the heart of the collaboration is a shared focus on movement, performance and the body. The collection reimagines Under Armour’s foundational HeatGear technology through minimalist silhouettes, monochrome aesthetics and Marine Serre’s signature Moon motif, creating a fusion of technical sportswear and luxury design.
Marine Serre, founder and creative director of her eponymous label, said the collaboration explores the relationship between performance, precision and beauty, beginning with the baselayer, the garment closest to the athlete’s body and experience.
The collection combines two iconic brand elements: Under Armour’s performance-driven heritage and Marine Serre’s “Second Skin” concept, represented through the house’s recognizable Moon-patterned designs. A custom graphic merges Marine Serre’s Moon symbol with Under Armour’s heartbeat logo, reflecting the partnership’s emphasis on discipline, progress and innovation.
The collaboration also revives the UA Proto Speed II, a footwear silhouette originally introduced in the late 2000s. The updated design features layered textile construction, sculptural leather detailing and co-branded elements that blend archival influences with a contemporary aesthetic.
Under Armour described the partnership as part of its ongoing efforts to expand beyond traditional performance apparel and engage with broader cultural and fashion audiences while maintaining its focus on innovation and athletic functionality.
The collaboration highlights the growing convergence between sportswear and luxury fashion, as brands increasingly seek to combine technical performance, lifestyle appeal and creative design in response to evolving consumer preferences.
