The Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) has called for the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technologies to enhance innovation, productivity, and competitiveness across Bangladesh’s business and industrial sectors.
The call came during a seminar titled “AI and Blockchain: Transforming Business, Industry and Trade,” held on 18 July at the chamber’s office in Gulshan, Dhaka. The event brought together business leaders, chamber members, technology experts, and media representatives to discuss the growing role of emerging technologies in shaping the future of commerce and industry.
Opening the seminar, BCCCI President Mohd Khorshed Alam emphasized that AI and blockchain are becoming essential tools for businesses seeking to improve operational efficiency and remain competitive in an increasingly digital global economy.
He noted that the seminar was organized to help BCCCI members better understand the practical applications of these technologies and encourage their responsible integration into business operations.
The event explored the expanding use of AI and blockchain across a wide range of sectors, including business, banking, trade, logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain management, while also examining the opportunities, implementation challenges, and ethical considerations associated with their adoption.
The keynote presentation was delivered by Khondkar Atique-E-Rabbani, a Fellow Chartered Accountant and graduate of the University of Bradford, who highlighted current and emerging applications of AI and blockchain in business, finance, and international trade.
An interactive discussion followed, where participants exchanged views on the ethical use of artificial intelligence, data governance, workforce implications, and strategies for integrating digital technologies into business operations.
Participants also shared practical examples of AI-powered solutions in banking, trade facilitation, logistics, and port operations, emphasizing that technological advancement should be accompanied by responsible governance, transparency, and sustainable implementation.
Concluding the seminar, BCCCI reaffirmed its commitment to organizing more knowledge-sharing initiatives to promote technological innovation, digital transformation, and stronger Bangladesh-China business and trade cooperation.
