The government has approved a Revised Annual Development Programme (RADP) of Tk2 lakh crore for FY26, cutting the original allocation by 13.04% or Tk30,000 crore, due to slow project implementation and lower demand from ministries.
Government funding was reduced by Tk16,000 crore, while foreign loans and grants were cut by Tk14,000 crore. The decision was taken at a National Economic Council meeting chaired by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.Transport and communication received the highest allocation at Tk38,509 crore, followed by power and energy at Tk26,186 crore. Health saw the sharpest cut—about 74%—while education allocations were reduced by 35%.
The RADP includes 1,330 projects, with 286 scheduled for completion during the fiscal year.
