CLO Wins Final Software Copyright Case Against Linctex in China

CLO Virtual Fashion has secured a final and binding judgment from the Zhejiang Provincial High People’s Court in a software copyright infringement case against Zhejiang Lingdi Digital Technology Co. Ltd. (Linctex), the developer of Style3D.

The court ruled that Linctex engaged in willful and large-scale commercial use of cracked versions of CLO’s software. It confirmed that this activity constituted a direct violation of CLO’s legally protected computer software copyright.

After reviewing the evidence, the court rejected Linctex’s “fair use” defense, stating that the unauthorized software use served clear commercial purposes. The judgment is now legally effective and requires Linctex to immediately cease all infringing activities and pay compensation to CLO.

This ruling concludes a multi-year legal dispute and reinforces China’s commitment to strengthening intellectual property (IP) protection and promoting fair competition in the digital business environment.

Simon Kim, CEO of CLO Virtual Fashion, welcomed the decision, stating that the verdict highlights the importance of respecting intellectual property rights. He emphasized that protecting innovation is essential to maintaining stability and trust within the global digital fashion ecosystem.

Kim also reaffirmed CLO’s long-term commitment to the Chinese market, noting that the company will continue supporting the digital transformation of China’s fashion industry through localized product development, technical support, and strategic partnerships.

CLO stated that it will continue its global anti-piracy efforts to ensure a fair, secure, and competitive environment for creators and fashion technology enterprises worldwide.
