The 2026 Met Gala will take place on May 4 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York under the dress code “Fashion Is Art.” The event will be co-chaired by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour.
The gala will launch the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, “Costume Art,” curated by Andrew Bolton. Opening May 10, 2026, the exhibition will showcase nearly 400 objects, including garments, accessories, paintings and sculptures, highlighting the artistic significance of the dressed body.
The exhibition will debut in The Met’s new Condé M. Nast Galleries. Proceeds from the gala will support the Costume Institute’s annual exhibitions, acquisitions and operations.
