Bangladesh’s Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood has arrived in Tokyo to attend the Indo-Pacific Energy Security Ministerial and Business Forum. The two-day event, held Saturday and Sunday, is jointly hosted by the US National Energy Dominance Council and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Energy ministers and senior officials from countries including Australia, Brunei, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam are participating.
Discussions will focus on strengthening energy security in the Indo-Pacific, ensuring a reliable, affordable, and secure energy supply.
On the sidelines, Minister Mahmood will hold bilateral talks with officials from the US, Japan, Brunei, and other nations. He will also meet private sector representatives to explore investment and cooperation opportunities in Bangladesh’s energy sector.
