China’s logistics sector recorded steady growth in the first quarter of 2026, with total social logistics value rising 6.2% year-on-year to ¥96.4 trillion (~$14 trillion), driven largely by industrial activity.
Manufacturing remained the key contributor, accounting for the majority of logistics demand, while consumption-linked logistics also expanded, supported by a 7.5% increase in online retail sales.
Officials highlighted continued resilience in the sector, backed by recovering consumption trends and policy support.
Looking ahead, authorities plan to strengthen supply chains, improve urban–rural logistics networks, and accelerate digital and green transformation across the sector.
