Bangladesh showcased its growing export capabilities at the three-day Korea Import Expo 2026, where 32 companies presented a diverse range of products and services aimed at expanding trade and investment opportunities with South Korea.
Jointly organized by the Korea-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KBCCI) in collaboration with the Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul, the exhibition was held at COEX Hall B and attracted Korean importers, distributors, international companies, foreign embassies and trade organizations.
The Bangladesh pavilion featured a broad portfolio of export-oriented products, including apparel and textiles, garment accessories, leather goods, footwear, jute products, eco-friendly biodegradable items, handicrafts, agro and processed foods, logistics services, and information technology and AI-driven software solutions.
The expo hosted around 200 exhibition booths showcasing products across multiple sectors, including consumer goods, food and beverages, cosmetics, electronics, industrial materials, health and wellness products, and innovative technologies.
The exhibition was jointly inaugurated by Young Mi Youn, Chairman of the Korea Importers Association, and Toufiq Islam Shatil, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Korea.
A 41-member business delegation, led by KBCCI President Shahab Uddin Khan, represented Bangladesh at the international trade event.
Under the theme “Invest in Bangladesh: Advancing Trade and Investment Through Strong Bilateral Relations,” the Bangladesh pavilion attracted significant interest from buyers and visitors, highlighting the country’s expanding export potential and investment opportunities.
During the event, Ambassador Toufiq Islam Shatil reaffirmed the embassy’s commitment to supporting KBCCI and Bangladeshi businesses in strengthening bilateral trade, investment and commercial partnerships with South Korea.
Among the distinguished guests were Lee Yun Young, Vice President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and former Ambassador of South Korea to Bangladesh, Park Young Sik, former Ambassador of South Korea to Bangladesh, and David Kim, Honorary Consul General of Bangladesh in Incheon.
The participation reflects Bangladesh’s continued efforts to diversify export markets, promote value-added products and deepen economic cooperation with South Korea through stronger business-to-business engagement and trade promotion initiatives.
