Global e-commerce giant Amazon has announced a €100 million investment in a new logistics facility in Zaragoza, reinforcing its long-term commitment to strengthening supply chains and accelerating delivery efficiency across the Spanish market.
The new distribution centre, named ZAZ8, will span over 30,000 square metres and is expected to generate around 600 jobs within the next three years. Located in the Centrovía industrial park in La Muela, the facility is scheduled to begin operations in September and will focus on high-demand consumer goods.
The investment marks a strategic expansion of Amazon’s logistics network in the Aragon region, where it already operates multiple facilities, including inbound cross-dock centres, Amazon Fresh hubs and logistics stations. The addition of ZAZ8 will create an intermediate storage layer, enabling faster inventory movement and reducing delivery times by positioning products closer to end consumers.
Industry analysts note that such infrastructure investments are increasingly critical as e-commerce platforms seek to optimise last-mile delivery while managing rising consumer expectations for speed and reliability.
The centre will also support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), many of which rely on Amazon’s platform to access global markets. By improving logistics efficiency, the facility is expected to enhance export capabilities and strengthen regional supply chain integration.
Regional authorities welcomed the move, highlighting its role in boosting employment and positioning Aragon as a growing logistics and technology hub. The project also aligns with Amazon’s broader investment strategy in Spain, where it has committed over €20 billion to logistics, cloud infrastructure and innovation initiatives.
With e-commerce demand continuing to rise, Amazon’s latest investment reflects a broader industry shift towards decentralised, high-efficiency logistics networks designed to support both domestic distribution and cross-border trade.
