The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and IVY Decarb Marketplace SL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on May 6, 2026, aimed at strengthening collaboration on industrial decarbonization, productivity enhancement, and sustainable machinery transition in Bangladesh’s garment and textile sector.
The MoU was signed by Ms. Vidiya Amrit Khan, Vice President of BGMEA, and José Manuel Caballero, Managing Director of IVY Decarb Marketplace SL. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Director of BGMEA, and Md. Masud Rana, Business Development Director of IVY Decarb.
Under the partnership, BGMEA and IVY Decarb will jointly work to introduce advanced decarbonization methodologies to BGMEA member factories and support the industry in adopting energy-efficient industrial machinery and sustainable production technologies.
The collaboration will also focus on validating and strengthening IVY Decarb’s methodology for measuring productivity improvements and sustainability impacts resulting from textile machinery replacement.
Industry stakeholders believe the initiative will contribute significantly to reducing carbon emissions, improving operational efficiency, and advancing Bangladesh’s transition toward a greener and more competitive apparel and textile industry.
