Italian Textile Technology Takes Center Stage at Bangladesh–Italy B2B Workshop

A B2B workshop titled “Latest Italian Technology of Spinning, Weaving and Finishing – A Way Forward to Stronger Bangladesh–Italy Business Cooperation” was held on Monday, bringing together industry leaders, technology providers, textile millers and business agents to explore opportunities for enhanced bilateral cooperation.

Speaking as a distinguished guest, BGMEA Director Shah Rayeed Chowdhury emphasized the importance of strengthening Bangladesh–Italy business relations through proactive collaboration. He highlighted the significant potential for Italian investment in Bangladesh’s non-cotton textile industry and other emerging sectors.

He also stressed the need to deepen business-to-business partnerships through trade fairs, exhibitions and regular industry engagement to promote technology transfer and investment.

Antonio Alessandro, Ambassador of Italy to Bangladesh, reaffirmed the growing partnership between the two countries and expressed optimism about expanding cooperation in the textile and apparel sectors.

The workshop also featured remarks from Mohammad Hatem, President of BKMEA, and Mohammed Hanif Shoeb, Director of BTMA.BGMEA Directors Sumaiya Islam and Rumana Rashid were also present at the event.

The workshop was promoted by the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and ACIMIT, and organized with the support of the Embassy of Italy in Dhaka.
