China has outlined a series of policy priorities aimed at strengthening economic momentum, expanding domestic demand and ensuring stable long-term growth, as authorities move to support recovery amid global uncertainties.
Officials from the National Development and Reform Commission said a coordinated mix of macroeconomic measures will be deployed, with additional policies to be introduced as needed to sustain growth.
A key focus will be on expanding domestic demand, with plans to formulate a comprehensive 2026–2030 action strategy. Authorities also aim to accelerate the implementation of major infrastructure and development projects to stimulate economic activity.
Innovation and technology development remain central to the strategy. China will intensify efforts to advance emerging industries, promote the “AI plus” initiative, and foster the growth of a smart economy. Measures are also being planned to upgrade the service sector and enhance its overall capacity.
Employment and income growth are another priority area. The government has pledged to strengthen job creation policies, improve job quality, and implement income support measures for both urban and rural populations. Social safety nets will also be expanded to support vulnerable groups.
In addition, authorities will focus on maintaining stable supply and prices of essential goods, including energy, raw materials and food. Efforts will also continue to accelerate the transition toward a modern energy system while supporting stability in the property sector.
The policy roadmap reflects China’s broader strategy to balance growth, stability and structural transformation, with an emphasis on domestic consumption, innovation-driven development and resilience in key economic sectors.
