Huarun Tex Announces $30 Million Textile Investment in BEPZA EZ

Chinese textile manufacturer Huarun Tex Co. Ltd. will invest $30 million to establish a state-of-the-art textile manufacturing facility at the BEPZA Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ) in Mirsharai, Chattogram, further strengthening Bangladesh’s position as a competitive destination for foreign investment in the textile sector.

The investment was formalized through a land lease agreement signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Huarun Tex on 16 July 2026 at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka.

Under the project, the company will establish its manufacturing facility on 36,000 square meters of land with an annual production capacity of 24,000 tonnes of yarn and 20 million metres of grey woven fabric. The factory is expected to create employment opportunities for approximately 580 Bangladeshi nationals once it becomes fully operational.

The agreement was signed by Md. Tanvir Hossain, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Bin Wang, Managing Director of Huarun Tex Co. Ltd., on behalf of their respective organizations.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, Executive Chairman of BEPZA, who welcomed Huarun Tex’s investment and expressed appreciation for the company’s decision to establish its manufacturing base in Bangladesh.

He reaffirmed BEPZA’s commitment to providing investors with a secure, modern, and business-friendly operating environment and assured the company of full institutional support to ensure the successful implementation of the project.

The ceremony was also attended by senior BEPZA officials, including Abdullah Al Mamun, Member (Engineering); A N M Foyzul Haque, Member (Finance); Md. Khorshid Alam, Executive Director (Enterprise Services); Samir Biswas, Executive Director (Administration); Mohammad Anamul Haque, Project Director of BEPZA Economic Zone; and A.S.M. Anwar Parvez, Executive Director (Public Relations), alongside representatives of Huarun Tex Co. Ltd.

The investment further reflects growing international confidence in Bangladesh’s industrial infrastructure and is expected to contribute to the expansion of the country’s textile manufacturing capacity, employment generation, and export competitiveness.
