RMG Club Ltd. and the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) have initiated discussions on a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry through greater collaboration, innovation and sustainable development.
The meeting was held at the Amber Group Head Office in Dhaka, bringing together Rezaul Alam Miru, President of RMG Club Ltd., Showkat Aziz Russell, President of BTMA, and senior representatives from both organizations.
The discussions focused on establishing a long-term collaborative framework to enhance the global competitiveness of Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector by promoting technological advancement, sustainability, investment and knowledge sharing across the value chain.
Both organizations identified several priority areas for future cooperation, including strengthening collaboration between textile manufacturers and garment exporters, improving productivity through technological innovation, promoting sustainable manufacturing practices, encouraging research and leadership development, expanding international trade and investment opportunities, and supporting constructive policy dialogue for the industry’s long-term development.
Speaking after the meeting, Rezaul Alam Miru emphasized that stronger partnerships among industry stakeholders are essential to accelerating innovation, sustainability and global competitiveness across Bangladesh’s textile and apparel value chain.
BTMA President Showkat Aziz Russell highlighted the importance of closer cooperation in addressing emerging industry challenges, creating new business opportunities and reinforcing Bangladesh’s position as one of the world’s leading textile and apparel sourcing destinations.
The meeting concluded with both organizations reaffirming their commitment to building a resilient, competitive and sustainable textile and apparel ecosystem. They also agreed to maintain regular engagement and jointly pursue initiatives that contribute to the continued growth and long-term success of Bangladesh’s largest export-oriented industry.
