Yarn Expo Shenzhen 2026 concluded with strong international participation, reinforcing its role as a strategic mid-year sourcing platform for the Greater Bay Area and highlighting the growing importance of sustainable, high-performance and value-added yarn and fibre solutions in the global textile industry.
Held alongside Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics and PH Value, the three-day exhibition attracted more than 20,000 visits from 74 countries and regions, bringing together suppliers, manufacturers, brands and sourcing professionals to explore the latest material innovations across the textile value chain.
Organized by Messe Frankfurt, the exhibition featured nearly 100 exhibitors, reflecting increased industry participation compared with the previous edition and demonstrating rising demand for innovative yarn and fibre products.
“The strong participation seen at Yarn Expo Shenzhen this year showcased the fair’s growing role as a key meeting point for the Greater Bay Area’s textile industry,” said Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.
She noted that the event successfully combined sourcing opportunities with knowledge exchange, enabling exhibitors and buyers to respond to evolving market demands while gaining insights into future developments in yarn and fibre innovation.
Focus on Sustainable and High-Performance Materials
The exhibition showcased products across five major categories, including chemical fibre, cotton yarn, fancy yarn, regenerated yarn and wool yarn, offering buyers a comprehensive overview of emerging material trends.
Among the featured innovations were Tempsense® bio-based temperature-regulating fibres and Collaskin® collagen fibres presented by Better International Holding, while Jingyi Group highlighted its sustainable Lyocell blended yarns. These products attracted significant interest from buyers seeking environmentally responsible and performance-oriented textile materials.
Knowledge Sharing and Innovation
Beyond product displays, the exhibition hosted a series of forums and innovation zones focused on sustainability, certification and next-generation textile materials.

Meanwhile, the New Fibre New World – Textile Materials Innovation Forum and the Green Fibre Eco-Forum featured discussions on recycling technologies, bio-based materials, fibre certification and circular textile development.
These programmes complemented innovation-focused activities at Intertextile Shenzhen Apparel Fabrics, creating a broader platform for collaboration across yarn, fabric and apparel sectors.
Industry Sees Rising Demand for Sustainable Fibres
Exhibitors reported strong buyer interest in functional and eco-friendly materials.
Better International Holding said visitors from Southeast Asia and the Greater Bay Area showed particular interest in plant-based functional yarns offering thermoregulating properties and internationally recognised green certifications.

Jingyi Group emphasized increasing demand for sustainable Lyocell blended vortex-spun yarns, adding that the exhibition’s timing enabled the company to engage key customers from China’s major textile manufacturing regions while strengthening collaboration with apparel manufacturers exhibiting at the concurrent trade fairs.
International Buyers Expand Sourcing Networks
Visitors from major textile markets, including South Korea and India, praised the exhibition’s broad product portfolio and focus on innovation.
Buyers noted strong interest in functional, sustainable and specialty yarns while highlighting the advantages of accessing yarn, fabric and apparel suppliers under one roof. Several participants reported identifying new suppliers and business partners during the exhibition.
