Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition will return from 25–27 August 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), reinforcing its position as one of the world’s leading sourcing platforms for the global apparel textile industry. This year’s edition will place sustainability and material innovation at the forefront through its dedicated Econogy Hub, showcasing next-generation natural, bio-based and recycled textile solutions.
As the textile and apparel industry continues to adapt to evolving sustainability requirements and shifting raw material strategies, the exhibition will highlight scalable innovations that support environmental responsibility, operational efficiency and long-term commercial viability.
Econogy Hub to Showcase Sustainable Textile Solutions
The Econogy Hub will bring together fibre producers, textile manufacturers, certification bodies, technology providers and standards organizations to present innovative materials and sustainable production technologies aligned with internationally recognized sustainability frameworks.
The platform aims to facilitate direct engagement between exhibitors and sourcing professionals, enabling buyers to discover verified sustainable solutions while responding to growing market demand for traceable, renewable and recycled textile materials.
With synthetic fibres accounting for approximately 60% of global fibre consumption, industry stakeholders are increasingly prioritizing material diversification, renewable resources and recycled inputs to improve supply chain resilience and reduce environmental impact.
Focus on Traceability and Bio-Based Materials
Among the featured exhibitors, Haelixa AG of Switzerland will showcase its DNA-based traceability technology, which enables brands to authenticate textile materials from fibre to finished garment. The company’s natural DNA marker system supports transparent supply chains for fibres including organic cotton and cashmere and has already been used to trace more than 30 million garments globally.
Hong Kong-based ZAKER New Material Technology will introduce its Rborne polyurethane platform, a high-performance plant-based leather solution designed to accelerate the commercial adoption of bio-based alternatives while maintaining durability and manufacturing efficiency.
Expanded Sustainable Sourcing Platform
The exhibition’s Econogy Finder initiative will feature more than 100 verified sustainable exhibitors, allowing buyers to efficiently identify suppliers that meet recognized environmental and sustainability standards across various product categories.
Complementing the sourcing platform, the Econogy Tour will guide visitors to selected sustainable exhibitors, while Econogy Talks will host industry forums covering topics such as circular economy, material innovation, certification, compliance and emerging sustainability trends.
A dedicated Econogy Hub Display Area will further showcase selected eco-friendly textile products, providing buyers with an overview of the latest material innovations available across the exhibition.
