Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry is set to take centre stage as the upcoming BTKG Expo 2026 prepares to bring together global manufacturers, technology providers and industry stakeholders in International Convention City Bashundhara.
The four-day international exhibition will run from April 29 to May 2, showcasing the latest innovations across the textile value chain. The event is jointly organised by the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and Infochain Digital Technology Co., Ltd..
Speaking at a pre-event press conference, BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem highlighted the critical role of the ready-made garment (RMG) sector in Bangladesh’s economy. He noted that the sector generated around $39 billion in export earnings in the 2024–25 fiscal year, accounting for over 80% of total national exports.
Hatem emphasised the need for accelerated adoption of advanced technologies, improved operational efficiency and stronger sustainability practices to maintain Bangladesh’s global competitiveness. He added that international platforms such as BTKG Expo are vital for fostering innovation, knowledge exchange and industry collaboration.
The exhibition is expected to feature approximately 1,000 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries, with over 1,200 booths spread across 20,000 square metres. Participants from major textile hubs including China, Japan, India, Türkiye and the UAE will showcase a broad spectrum of products and solutions.
Key highlights of the expo will include advancements in textile machinery, dyeing and finishing technologies, knitting and weaving systems, embroidery solutions, and garment manufacturing processes. Industry professionals will also have the opportunity to explore emerging trends in automation, digitalisation and sustainable production.
Open daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, the event is poised to serve as a strategic platform for strengthening global partnerships and driving the next phase of growth in Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector.
