The ITET–BUTEX Career Fair 2026, presented by Centro Tex Limited, was successfully held on April 23 at Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), bringing together students and leading industry stakeholders in a dynamic, day-long engagement.
Organized by the BUTEX Career Club with support from the Institute of Textile Engineers and Technologists (ITET), the fair featured strong industry participation. Alongside Centro as Title Sponsor, Swiss Chroma Bangladesh Limited and Fashion Power Group joined as Platinum Sponsors, while Aman Group, Babylon Group, and MM Knitwear Limited supported the event in Gold and Silver categories.
The fair was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Julhash Uddin, after which the campus saw active participation from job-seeking students exploring career and internship opportunities. Nearly 27 leading organizations—including Ha-Meem Group, Oeko-Tex Group, Urmi Group, Purbani Group, Apilion, AKH Group, Pacific Jeans, and Bitopi Group—participated, with several conducting on-the-spot interviews.
A panel discussion on “How geopolitics is reshaping the textile industry” featured industry leaders including Tareq Amin, Mohammad Shahed Sikder, Md. Nur Hossain, Mahmudul Hasan Bhuiyan, and Md. Zafar Iqbal, offering insights into industry trends and career pathways.The event also included a career-focused workshop conducted by Zaidur Rahman, providing practical guidance for aspiring graduates.
At the closing ceremony, ITET leaders, including Engr. Ehsanul Karim Kaysar and Engr. Md. Enayet Hossain, highlighted the fair’s impact in connecting graduates with multiple employers in a single platform. The Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of sustaining such initiatives annually and encouraged competitive industry compensation for graduates.
Overall, the ITET–BUTEX Career Fair 2026 served as a strategic platform bridging academia and industry, creating meaningful employment opportunities for the next generation of textile engineers.
